Methods to judge VIG failure
Vacuum insulating glass is becoming more popular in 2022,especially in windows renovation projects.End consumers can replace the original glass to the most advanced energy saving VIG without changing the windows frames, most important is,the replacement won’t affect people’s daily work and life.
The simple installation makes VIG an easy and simple way to create more comfortable living environment.
With the approaching of winter,it’s time to judge if it’s worthy to make the renovation ,then what will happen if VIG failed in winter ? what caused glass failure? How can we judge if VIG works or not?
Every customer is assured that ,every piece HaanGlas VIG,whether Basic or Pro version,is tested before delivery.
Whether by cooling process or heating process,VIG is tested to have excellent thermal conductivity.

HAANGLAS- VIG testing before delivery
Most glass failure happens before installation ,bcs of shocks, improper installation. After installation,Glass itself won’t break or fail unless spontaneous breakage happens.

Reasons causing vacuum glazing failure
1.All kinds of shocks.
for example bad protection and separation when packing, shocks happens during transportation, during installation ,and shocks after installation(mainly are shocks when closing doors).
The feature of glass failure caused by shocks is, glass edge has different color because of shocks.
HaanGlas Basic VIG is rigid connection by glass solders which is more rigid, less elasticity than Pro version which is metal sealed VIG. So Basic VIG failure ratio is higher than Pro version.

2.Improper installation.
For windows renovation projects, each project is different.
Windows frames are different, wood, aluminium,PVC,and more.Even if in the same project, the windows frame may deform after years.
Improper glass sizes, insufficient blocks between frame and glass will extrude glass edge and caused glass failure.
Every end consumers should check with the installation team to set up unique installation plan before deciding changing your glass to VIG.

Methods to judge glass failure or not?
-
The most common phenomenon of failed VIG,is condensation on glass inside.
Glass Condensation refers to the phenomenon that condensation water appears on the surface of an object when the temperature of the surface is lower than the dew point temperature of the nearby air. It is mainly manifested as uniform granular water droplets on the ground and walls.
If vacuum glazing failed, glass inner surface will drop significantly and get condensed.
Of course in October and November when temperature drop we fast at night, the condensation will happen on glass outside, that prove the VIG works perfectly.

2.Failed glass will have lower surface temperature in winter.
If you place hand on glass, customers can feel the obvious temperature difference between working VIG and failure VIG.
After testing, the temperature difference can be at least 4℃,in cold winter, the temperature difference can reach 15-20℃.

Working VIG and failure VIG inner surface temperature difference can rach 5℃ and much bigger in cold winter
Most vacuum double glazing failure are found in autumn and winter, while in summer ,customers can also detect the glass inner surface temperature in summer ,failed VIG will have higher temperature in summer.
HaanGlas strive to wok with our partners, distributors to optimize the working flow and increase quality inspection from production to installation, every piece glass should be cared and ensured to work perfectly after installation.
